Motorcycles and the ocean are my only loves.
Until Hali.
Every Sunday, I exchange my mancard for a punch on my pink frozen yogurt card.
Just to see her.
This is what stalkers do, you see.
I’ll do whatever it takes to catch one tiny glimpse of her bright smile—a smile she shines upon me, even if only for a few brief moments—to light up my usually dark, lonely world.
Hello, my name is Madden Finn.
And I’m in love with a girl who doesn’t even know my name.

***Mad Sea was originally created as a story for an anthology. There were size constraints which explains the short length of this story. Because of this, the story is sweet, to the point, and all kinds of instalove. If you’re looking for a quick, lovable read that is quite outside your normal reading zone, then you’re going to love this.***

Mermaids, bikers, and meddling family members, OH MY! Mad Sea isn't K. Websters darkest book, or most erotic, or even the most outlandish, but it is one heavy dollop of sweet insta-love mixed in with the fairy tales little girls dream of. Written originally as a short for an anthology, Mad Sea is a novella with alternating POV's. Like most novellas the characters and setting are given to us swiftly, but K. Webster strays from the norm by creating a complete story filled with romance, suspense, smut, and even an epilogue.

I had more of a feel for Madden than I did for Hali, we get more time in his brain and in his world, but as a reader it is easy to see how these two are drawn to one another. Like most novellas, the connection between these two is immediate and the love develops faster than a lightning strike. It's over the top, especially once you mix in the unique elements of mermaids. While it seemed a little over packed, with biker scenes and parents who are a bit too overbearing, it was an enjoyable read in the fantasy genre. I sort of loved that it had all the cliches that are popular right now mixed into a quick read, because it was easy to picture.

If you love K. Websters brand of crazy, Mad Sea won't let you down. It may not be anything you expect from her, but that's what makes it all the more enjoyable. Mad Sea is sweet, it's quick, and it'll pull you from your mundane life and deposit you into the gorgeous waters that is the romance of Madden and Hali.
