I've been delaying writing this review, because in the end my rating came down to personal preference entirely. I read the entire book, so it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't necessarily right for me. The writing is great, the creativity totally kept my attention, but the general premise of it threw me off. I get online relationships, 110% actually, but how this one played out just...confused me. Sophie is both this quiet teacher and at this same time a submissive freak, awesome, but it didn't make sense. She was so worried about her career and her image, but she was doing things, in public, that I just couldn't actually see her doing. The stuff at home, in hotels, absolutely, but on a car? No. I really liked that the submission to the man over the internet and the phone was super unique, especially the creative methods the Dom used, and how their relationship played out, but the connection didn't feel like it was there. Plus, I didn't expect to be reading emails from the characters the entire novel, I got so bored! I really just wanted to see them in real life acting all this out, so maybe less time online chatting and more time doing these visits. Of course, there's a sequel where I can go get what I want, but I'm just not sure I will.
Very on the fence with this one, it's just unlike anything I've read before and totally threw me off.
