Release Day Review: Hard Love (Hacker #5) - Meredith Wild

I suggest you start this one from the beginning and not read it in the order I did, which was last first and the rest after. *While it was an unfortunate mistake, one I didn't intend to have happen, it ended up being worthwhile as I have found a new favorite author in Meredith Wild.*

Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Hacker Series Summary: "Software mogul Blake Landon has met his match in headstrong Erica Hathaway. While his controlling nature and her independent spirit continue to battle, Blake has no intention of letting her out of his life again. Erica has given Blake her trust and her love, determined that they will conquer any challenges together. But when he demands more and tests the boundaries of her commitment, she is forced to face the dark desires he's kept hidden. As their bonds grow tighter, their enemies close in. With Erica's start-up in danger, Blake's frustration grows as he tries to protect her from those who would ruin her only to get to him. Can their relationship survive when Blake's enemies cross the line and threaten more than her livelihood?"

In the dramatic conclusion to Meredith Wild's Hacker series we are catching up with characters Erica and Blake. Erica has recovered from the traumatic shooting she was involved in and the happy couple is celebrating their recent nuptials. Upon return from a peaceful, electronic free honeymoon they are thrust back into real life; Erica's estranged father has been elected governor, work requires attention, and Blake is faced with a situation related to his past transgressions. Haunted by their past, Blake and Erica must fight to be together again to face those out to get them and tear their happiness apart.

I loved Hard Love, so much that I didn't care that I'd picked up the final book before reading the rest of the series. Seriously, I purchased book one through four upon completion so I can read all five in order. MeredIth Wild does suspense and romance in an absolute perfect way. She holds character's true to their past, allowing them to falter in their steps just as they would have back at the start of the series. She also managed to create a totally happy ending, closing up loOse strings from the past four books that a reader might have even forgotten about. The love scenes are swoon worthy, the dramatic moments full of angst, and the sex scenes just the perfect amount of sex and kink. You'll gasp, you'll probably be a little down, and then you'll be giggling with joy. I highly suggest the Hacker series for those who like their romance with a side of kink and thrill.
